Fixtures

John Landrum Bryant
Price: $4,000 (set)

Can a sink be a work of art? Indeed, if your tap has been handcrafted by New York-based jeweler John Landrum Bryant. He uses the lost wax process to create his original bronze designs, which incorporate water into scenes of nature. In Ocean Floor, shown here, the water flows through a hole in the floor of the faucet, washing over a miniature sea-bottom populated by shells and starfish, before spilling into the basin. This and a handful of other styles will be available in limited editions of 300. Bryant can also create various finishes, as well as complementary sconces, doorknobs and other accessories to complete a special environment.

Aeon Flux..
The story is so poorly written and incredibly boring...I thought maybe the action would make up for it..Not a chance..The action was worse than the story...Really horrible directing and pretty shitty acting........I want my 10$ back!

Michael is not the natural father [02 Dec 2005|06:49am]

superdupere
Michael Jackson's ex-wife Debbie Rowe has told an Irish newspaper the Thriller singer is not the biological father of their children Prince Michael Jr and Paris.

The Sunday World quotes Rowe, who was married to Jackson for three years between 1996 and 1999, as saying her eight-year-old son and seven-year-old daughter were both conceived using anonymous semen brought from a sperm bank.

She tells the paper: "Michael knows the truth - that he is not the natural father of Prince Michael Jr and Paris. He has to come clean.

"I have no information whatsoever about the identity of the semen donor for either child as such (semen) was obtained anonymously from a semen bank under an agreement of confidentiality."

Borat 'supports' Kazakh attack against him [02 Dec 2005|06:48am]

superdupere
Sacha Baron Cohen's TV alter ego Borat Sagdiyev has jokingly responded to a legal threat from the Kazakhstan government accusing him of portraying the nation as a country of drunken Stalinists.

The court action comes in the wake of the British funnyman's notorious appearance as host of the MTV Europe Music Awards, which saw him arrive in an Air Kazakh aeroplane piloted by a one-eyed, vodka swigging local.

But the Jewish comic is amused by the authorities' outrage.

He quips as Borat: "I'd like to state I have no connection with Mr Cohen and fully support my government's position to sue this Jew.

"Since 2003 … Kazakhstan is as civilized as any other country in the world.

"Women can now travel on inside of bus, homosexuals no longer have to wear blue hat and age of consent has been raised to eight years old."

Cohen's spoof reporter has previously slammed the country for mock past-times including gypsy catching, goat punching and the joys of drinking horse urine.

MTV plays music videos? what a country [07 Nov 2005|10:30pm]

sarcasmsmith
Last night before going to sleep i was watching MTV for a bit. I was shocked to see that MTV still plays Music videos. Apparently they only enjoy playing them when no one is watching.I saw two videos that caught my attention.

The first video I saw was Madonna's new single "Hung Up." This might be the saddest thing I've seen in a while. The video concept is the incredibly grounbreaking one of having Madonna at a night club.Madonna just playing looks old.Make up and camera tricks can't hide it anymore. She looks like the person hanging out at a club that's just a bit too old to be there. The only good thing about it was that she didn't rap in it.

The Second video, and my fave out of the two, is Reverend Run's "Mind On The Road."This one is just hilarious and sad at the same time. The concept for this one consists of a giant reverend run walking around the world rapping. What makes it funny is what he's wearing. He's dressed as cross of pimp ,reverend and vampire. It's too good to be true.(pic below)

After watching this for a while I came to the conclusion that maybe it's not such a bad idea for MTV to not play any music videos.I think maybe they should stick to the 51st rerun of Laguna Beach.

Man Sues Ex-Girlfriend Over Glue Attack [04 Nov 2005|06:19am]

superdupere
A man claims his ex-girlfriend owes him more than $30,000 for gluing his genitals to his abdomen five years ago. ``This was not just some petty domestic squabble,'' attorney Grey Pratt told a Westmoreland County jury Wednesday.

His client, Kenneth Slaby of Pittsburgh, is suing Gail O'Toole of Murrysville. His lawsuit claims the two broke up in 1999 after dating for 10 months and Slaby began dating someone else.

Slaby contends that O'Toole invited him over to her home on May 7, 2000, where he fell asleep. He woke up to find that O'Toole had used Super Glue to stick his genitals to his abdomen, glued his buttocks together and spelled out a profanity on his back in nail polish.

Slaby said O'Toole told him it was payback for their breakup, and he had to walk a mile to a gas station to call for help. He pressed charges and O'Toole pleaded guilty to misdemeanor assault and served six months' probation.

O'Toole's attorney, Chuck Evans, said it was a consensual act and Slaby wasn't permanently damaged.

``This is a case that should have been left in the bedroom,'' he said.

Nick Cage pretends he's gods gift to every film [03 Nov 2005|01:19am]

Hollywood actor Nicolas Cage is angry that his American nationality hindered his chance to become James Bond because he thinks the prejudice is petty and stupid.

The Con Air star resents the unwritten rule which states the secret spy can only be played by British actors and is devastated he will probably never get another opportunity to try for the role.

He says: "You can cast a Brit to play Bond but you can never cast an American to play him.

"I think that is totally unfair."

Cage was a secret contender to play 007, but lost out to Layer Cake star Daniel Craig.

Its Official....I love Charlize Theron [03 Nov 2005|01:14am]

Halle Berry never received the flowers fellow Oscar winner Charlize Theron claimed she sent as an apology for publicly criticising the star.

Theron, who won Best Actress at the 2004 Academy Awards two years after Berry, was horrified when she read an article which said she slammed the actress' recent film choices, with the words: "Note to self: Do not become Halle Berry."

But Berry insists she never received anything from the supposedly apologetic actress.

She says: "I didn't get (the flowers) but I don't really put too much weight on what people say or the press says.

"I think things get twisted a lot and I really don't put too much weight on what other people think about me these days."

But Theron maintains she never made the comment and admires Berry immensely.

She says: "It hurt me only because I really have none of those feelings towards her. That was the thing that was so weird. I think she's wonderful."

Robin Williams is getting set to don the make-up and wig again and return to his beloved Mrs Doubtfire role in a long-awaited sequel.

The funnyman tells website Sky News he avoided the character for a while because sequel ideas failed to inspire him, but he's thrilled with a new script from comedienne/actress Bonnie Hunt.

He says: "There are plenty more adventures left for her, and the script could easily run to film three too. Fans will love it."

The 1993 movie made a whopping $219m (€182m) in America alone.

Slater fell off roof at Hilton party

It has emerged that Christian Slater fell from a roof at Paris Hilton's neighbour's house while drunk at a weekend party.

The 36-year-old actor climbed on to the roof after residents complained to police about the loud music, and a Los Angeles Police Department officer used a Taser gun to get him off.

He plunged into bushes and was not injured.

Once known as a Hollywood wild man, Christian Slater has had his share of run-ins with the law.

In September, prosecutors in New York agreed to dismiss groping charges against him on the condition he stay out of trouble for the next six months.

His lawyer, Eric Franz, was confident his client's antics at the weekend would not constitute a breach

ohsnippysnapDO not give John Mayer your number. The Grammy-winning songster ventured into "phone-stalking" territory recently when he left up to 10 messages a day on what he thought was Kanye West's cellphone, trying to talk the rapper into working with him. But the number, West's former digits, belongs to a publicist on the Left Coast. Mayer's desperation led him to create a rap for West about how great Kanye is and how much Mayer wanted to work with him. "It was hilariously bad," said a source. "The two are friends and collaborators who, yes, do leave messages for each other," confirmed Mayer's rep Ken Sunshine.
